Introduction

The work of running water in the form of surface runoff or overland flow and streams is most important of all the exogenetic or plantation processes because the running water is the most widespread exogenetic process on this planet Earth.

The landforms either carved out(due to erosion) or built-up(due to deposition) by running water are called fluvial landforms and the running water which shapes them is called fluvial process which includes overland flow and steam flow. The geological works of fluvial processes or rivers are called three-phase work comprising erosion, transportation, and deposition.

The fluvial landforms are divided into two major groups :

  1. Erosional landforms.
  2. Depositional landforms.
